Crazy Amazing Day

Meemer. It's funny how the more exercise you get, the more you're ready for. I dragged my dog on a two-mile walk today, which I could've guessed was going to kill her, but she bounced back remarkably well in time for puppy class, during which she demonstrated her stellar capabilities. She's such a smart, smart puppy. I realize that I gush entirely too much about her but you're just going to have to deal with that.

I bought the accessories for my prom dress today. Well, not really accessories so much as "amenities." I'm adding things onto the dress I bought so that it'll be both unique, and somewhat less expensive. Here's the break down:

Black strapless dress: $74

White satin fabric: $5.48

5 Faux pink-tipped white roses: $4.99

White thread flecked with silver: $4.99

Total cost: $89.46

I may have mentioned somewhere that I crochet, so I'm making my wrap out of the thread. I'm going to line the edge with silver drop beads, and cover an old clutch purse with the same crochet-and-silver-bead motif, so those costs aren't averaged in there, but for the most part I'm fairly sure I'm the most economical girl going to the prom. I'm extremely proud of myself, because the dress looks so amazingly fabulous, and you won't be able to tell for a second that the original design was altered.

I've labeled absolutely everything in my bedroom with its French noun. L'ordinateur, les levres, la lampe...and so forth. It's a post-it paradise. I'm determined to test into intermediate French this summer and so I'm refreshing every single French thing I can remember. I had nearly my entire conversation with Archie at lunch in French. Granted, his replies were exclusively in Spanish so Jenn had to translate, but she understands surprisingly much of my French so we decided that she's found her career. She's never taken French and I doubt she ever will, and therefore thought we were all crazy.

Well, I'm pretty sure my diagnosis of her recent unsettled stomach as the perfectly legitimate disease "Wandering Spleen" would've tipped her off, had she not already known I'm nuts. Maybe she won't miss me very much when I'm gone... ;)
