[Edit: Yes, I finally found the template I mentioned a few days ago. Don't worry, this one is staying up for a long long time, no more random layout changes for me!! Enjoy.]

Happy Easter! Today was a very interesting day. So was yesterday, actually.

Yesterday I went to Tammi's ISM presentation at an architecture firm. It was very well done and I learned quite a bit. She's obviously worked really hard this year, and we were all very proud of her.

After that I went to Jennifer's house, where we played board games all evening since she didn't feel like going to a movie. She won the first game, and I won the next two. We also made orange smoothies, and drank them in tropical glasses under the palm tree in her game room. I came home around midnight.

Today while Mom was at church John and I set up a whole huge Easter surprise for her. I baked a cinnamon cake and he baked a choclate one. The problem with THAT was that we didn't have enough powdered sugar to make the frosting. I drove us down to HEB, which for some unknown reason was closed today, so we had to head across the street to Eckerd. The line in there was INSANE. Also, they didn't have any powdered sugar, which we figured they wouldn't, so we settled for the pre-made kind of icing. Gross.

When we returned, Delia had somehow climbed up on the counter and grabbed the nearly-empty bag of powdered sugar. Apparently, it wasn't nearly-empty enough to avoid a huge, huge mess. I walked into the kitchen to find a trail of powdered-sugar mountains circling the table, and another around the island. She was sitting in the midst of it, wagging her tail with that innocent doggy grin. Somehow she'd sprayed the back door with it, and the top of her kennel. Mom says the floor STILL doesn't feel clean, hours after we mopped it up.

We decorated the house with streamers and whatnot, and arranged a trail of clues for mom to find, with a set of floating candles and a slice of cake at the end. She used to make scavenger hunts for us when we were little, so this was reminiscent. She enjoyed it.

Also, she bought the latest Harry Potter movie this weekend so John and I spent the rest of the day trying to beat the games on the "extras" DVD. I reign supreme. ;) Then we started watching the movie but I fell asleep halfway in, and ended up sleeping for the rest of the afternoon. We all went out to dinner at Chili's, where I had Veggie and Smoked Cheese Quesadillas, which were excellent. Spinach, artichokes, mushrooms, bleu cheese, sour cream and tomatoes in a cripy tortilla, served with black beans and rice. Yummy! I only ate a tiny bit of it though, because for some reason I haven't had an appetite today, but I took it home and am looking forward to it as lunch tomorrow.

I hope you had a marvellous Easter. <3
