Oh Yeah

music: "Me and Julio Down By The Schoolyard," Paul Simon.

Today was fabulous. Nothing particularly fabulous really happened, but I was in a *jubilant* mood so it didn't matter.

I ate lunch with Jennifer, Jason, and James, and it only just occurred to me that all of their names start with J. I'm fairly sure there was a "J" binge about seventeen years ago, but hopefully we've finished with that because all of my friends (or most of them, anyway) have painfully stereotypical names. Of course, now people are naming their children things like Skylar and Wind and Air and Bjen-hen-foo.

Anyway, back to lunch. My kids meal toy was a plastic elephant, which James adopted and strung to his shoulder by means of a semi-hideous necklace he happened to be wearing.

I helped sell Starbucks frappaccinos at Spring Fling, but really I didn't do that much. I've mastered the art of looking busy. It was fun, anyway, because I got to hang out with Kasi, who told me that everyone at a nearby high school thinks she's married for some reason, and Brittany, who was telling me how her face was smashed in by a golf club when she was seven.

Afterward I took James and Shaun home, but Shaun and I had to go back after school to buy prom bids (finally!). We watched Billy Madison in the interim, and on the way back had to run by Shaun's house to get his overdue library books, and two different gas stations for their ATMs because they have a $40 limit and he needed $60. If you haven't noticed, this Shaun is a troublesome kid!

The only other highlight was that I finally met the famous Danielle. She's everything everyone said she is -- I really liked her. She and Shaun have been dating for nearly three months, and they're supremely happy. They make an adorable couple. Anyway, I really enjoyed meeting her. She's a refreshing change from the silly immature jokes of James and Shaun, anyway.

Had a close encounter of the third kind as I was leaving the parking lot, but nothing came of that. And now here I am, waiting to drop by the library and renew some books and then take Delia to the doctor (she has a mild case of mange, poor baby.)

Peace love and happiness. (This is sugar-free Marjorie. You don't want to see me jubilant when I'm hyped up on sugar. Truuuuuust me...)
