music: "The Eternal," Joy Division
Things are beyond hectic, and I'm not sure if I have the energy to keep up or not. The return of my energy is the last thing to come in this long road of recovery, and I find I'm daunted even by rather simple things. Moving is, I have to say, not much of a simple thing.
I remembered a funny converstation we had over dinner before prom on Saturday. The girl sitting across from me will be referred to as "Hair," since I don't know her name and she has a copious amount of the stuff. It's pretty hair, too.
Conversation #1
Hair: So you're a vegetarian?
Marjorie: Yes, yes I am.
Aaron: You don't eat, like, chicken or anything?
Marjorie: Nope. Although I've always wanted to eat something exotic, just so that I could say I did.
Brittany: Like lamb?
Marjorie: No, lamb isn't exotic. I mean, like, a squirrel.
Hair: [gasp of disgust, then look of disbelief] A squirrel? Really??
Conversation #2
Evan: The trunk of my car is huge. It's so huge.
Marjorie: Can you stuff me in it after dinner?
(Odd looks from Jennifer and others)
Evan: In my trunk? In your prom dress?
[At this point Hair tunes in to conversation.]
Marjorie: Yes. I've always wanted to know what it feels like to be kidnapped and stuffed in a trunk.
Hair: [whispered to others] This girl is really weird.
I don't know but I think she's right. I don't know why I'd forgotten that before, but it's really not all that unusual for me to burst out with odd, random things like that. It's not as funny in retrospect, but for those of us that were there, it was pretty funny.
I watched Catch Me If You Can yesterday. I had gone to see it in the theater but it was so dull and slow that the four of us left mid-showing. I guess now I regret having done that, because the ending is at least a little better than the first half. But overall, I didn't enjoy the movie. It was dumb.
Today I watched The Very Thought of You (Monica Potter and Joseph Fiennes). That was a much better movie, and short, too. What is it with movies having become a standard two hours now? I really don't have the patience to sit through most two hour movies, and I'm much happier with an hour twenty, or an hour and a half, tops. Two hours is much too much time to waste on most movies that are out there.
Delia graduated puppy school last night, valedictorian. She has a ribbon and a certificate, as well as a bag of treats and toys, &c. We were all so proud! She navigated the obstacle course more efficiently than any of the other dogs. Kudos to her excellent trainer! (Thank you, thank you..)
Okay, I'm finished with this exceptionally dull post. Maybe they'll be more interesting soon, but don't expect much.
